Riding for a Cause
Greetings! On October 3 I will be participating in the Multiple Sclerosis NYC Bike Race. There are three courses varying by mileage – 30, 66 and 100 miles. The thirty mile challenge takes you round Manhattan along the FDR and the Henry Hudson – both roads will be closed to traffic during the race. The 66 and 100 mile courses take you through the Lincoln tunnel, also closed. Not surprisingly I would prefer to do the 30 mile course. But since I am raising money for a cure for MS by racing I feel that I should up the anti. So if I raise $4,999 or less I will sit back and do the 30; if I raise between $5,000-$9,999 I’ll do the 66 and if anyone really wants to piss me off they can drop in the extra $1 and over $10,000 I’ll race the full hog – all 100 miles. No matter which course I end up doing, chances are pain and suffering will be in my future. I think that I will buy a twin Camel Back and fill them up with red wine – probably a zin – but I have a month to figure out what wine to fill up with – if you have a suggestion I would love to hear it.
In the meantime I would really like you to visit the link below and drop some green into my sponsorship pot. This is such a great cause and chances are you know someone with MS, and if you don’t then chances are that you will, sadly, within the next 10 years. The statistics are horrendous and a cure has to be found. By participating in this bike ride I feel that I am doing my bit to find that cure. With your help it will happen. So please, visit the link below and donate directly to the cause -
